8th Grade was busy with projects this year and only had time for five actual keyboarding classes. All but two students increased in speed during these five lessons.
Internet Safety
8th Grade created Public Service Announcements to educate younger students (9-12 year olds) about keeping themselves safe when using the Internet. They used PowerPoint to create a storyboard of their idea and then filled this in with pictures and text to create the images for their PSA. These images were then upload to Animoto where they were mixed with music to create the final PSA.

Flixtime - This was done to compare Flixtime & Animoto
authorSTREAM Transitions, animations, etc. were added to the PowerPoint presentation and then it was uploaded to authorSTREAM.
Movie Maker & SchoolTube (Optional) - Slides were imported in to Movie Maker and music was added (if desired) from Jamendo
Thanksgiving means turkeys and Middle School students used KidPix to create a turkey this year and Mrs. Sedgwick used Animoto to put them all into a fun slideshow.
As a celebration of fall, Middle School students created a person out of a photo of a leaf and then wrote a Bio Poem for their leaf person. Click the image below to view the leaf people and poems.

8th Grade watch President Obama's Message for American Students and discussed the message that they felt it conveyed.
Each 8th grade student then created a document detailing their goals for this school year and how they planned to accomplish these goals. Each student selected at least one of their goals and posted it to a VoiceThread. St. Martin's 7th Grade students and students at St. Clare School on Staten Island, NY also participated in this VoiceThread and other schools may also add their goals at a later time.
